Presently "Las Coloradas" produces approximately 500,000 tons per year which are marketed in 21 states of the Mexican Republic, the company has kept active, setting the goal of expanding its territory of influence towards the northern border of Mexico.

The decision of not yielding to adversities is due to the dynamic activities of the new generation of executives and the experience of the directors. It is also due to the financial support given by the constant investments made in the producing plant of Las Coloradas and to the efficiency of new equipment installed in the salt refining plant in Tizimín, Yucatán; all of this contributing to the growth of our market.

This goal will be achieved within a brief period of time through distributors, wholesale and direct sales, then the product will be transported by land, railroad or sea. Our product has had great acceptance by companies who handle high quality standards, therefore demanding their distributors that they arrive on time. This makes it evident that products from Yucatan are able to and must compete with products that come from different regions of the country and from other countries, by providing quality, better prices and service in order to occupy a distinguished place amongst other suppliers of international prestige, who run their production plants with strict standards of quality control.
COSYSA has several warehouses which are located in Mexico City, Cancun, Tampico and Puebla.
In the near future the company plans to open different deposits of the final product in order to make the marketing of it more efficient to those states where it is currently not distributed. This is supported by the construction of a dock, where the distribution by sea is possible to the states located along the Gulf of México, such as Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco, and international locations.
THE INTERNACIONAL MARKET
The demands of globalization and modernization have motivated the leaders of the company to invest 3.5 million dollars in the construction of a dock in Las Coloradas with a length of 500 meters into the sea. It is located in the Northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, in effect making it possible to export the mineral to the East coast and to ports of the Gulf of Mexico in the United States, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
The American market has become an important goal of the company, with specific interest in Florida, Louisiana and Texas, due to their high imports of salt which amount to approximately 8 million tons per year. Right now the company has reserves of more than 700,000 tons, which will be exported from the dock. It is estimated that the construction of the dock will collect more than 3.75 million dollars per year for the state of Yucatan, which means many families of the area will benefit from this and jobs will be created directly or indirectly.
The construction of this dock represents for the company a new outlook by now having the possibility of increasing the volume of its sales through the infrastructure of the dock, which will permit loading within a 10 hour period, in a cost effective manner, of vessels of considerable capacity. In this way, COSYSA decisively faces the challenge of a new millennium with a sense of security that more 50 years of service and commerce have given the company.
